I Meant to Quilt

Yes, I went back to work today. And, yes, I spent a good chunk of time last night cutting the 40+ pieces of the next American Beauty BOM block (#11!). And I did get the pieces marked, but apparently working also needs to happen and does take precedence. So there will be no pictures tonight. But tomorrow for sure!

I thought I would just ruminate a bit about my 2011 goals. I have met one of them by completing and delivering the photo quilt. I met another of the goals when I attended the AQS show in Paducah.

I have made significant progress on two of the other goals – the big UFO in the basement and the American Beauty BOM. However, it doesn’t look like I will be able to finish either of them by the end of the year.

And the last goal, the quilt for my husband which is my oldest UFO, hasn’t even been touched.

I did start and complete two quilts that I had not even imagined were coming. And I started a third and fourth quilt which both should be completed in the first half of next year.

And, of course, I was project director for two quilts for our church’s auction.

So, although I may not meet more than 40% of my goals for the year, I have certainly had my most productive quilting year ever. I’ll settle for that.

congrats on the super productive year. Looking back it’s easy to get discouraged, but you’ve done so much. Good to hear you feel good about your quilty goals. Liked hearing about your auction quilts, sounds like part of it was stressful & time consuming. Whether or not we’ve talked a lot, you’ve been a good friend this year and to me that’s important & also not a goal you probably had either. 🙂
