Mug Rugs

I had never heard of these before, but The Quilted Magnolia blog (see the link on the right side of the page here) that I follow talked today about joining a mug rug swap. She had a link to the mug rug swap she joined, but she also had a link to some inspiration on Flickr – The Scrappy Mug Rug Swap. There are some very cool mug rugs to look at.

All of which is to say, maybe a block or two from this blog will end up as a mug rug. I’m also considering using some of them to make table runners for Christmas, but maybe I can use some to make mug rugs too. And then I’ll have to learn to free motion quilt. Sigh.

You should join, they look fun to make, and would be great for christmas.
I would like to star a weekly sewing challenge blog. I would simply post a weekly them, you would post a picture which goes along with the theme then a random person would win a little something, something.
What do you think, if your interested, go check out my blog explaining to a bit more, you can find it here at Paula’s Sewing Creations. If your not interested, sorry for the inconvenience.

  1. I’m going to host a fun mug rug swap soon on Swapbot! Will likely start it after the holidays are over so people don’t feel like they have one more thing to do before end of December. I’ll post on my blog when I’ve got it ready to sign up. 🙂
