My Gretchen Block

If you read the previous post, you know how excited I was to find the Gretchen Block. And, of course, I wanted to make one to try it out. I used the paper piecing templates from Quilter’s Cache, available from this page. I used a couple of fat quarters from Kate Spain’s Serenade line. And here is MY Gretchen Block:

Paper pieced block sampleYes, those are not my normal colors of choice, but I really like the way it turned out. I know there is a Gretchen Quilt for me sometime in the future!

In other news, the church quilt Woven Links, which you can see in the previous post, sold for $1400 dollars at the church auction, which pleased all of us who worked on it. We have another donated top for next year’s quilt, which we will alter a bit with some pieced borders. I’m sure I’ll be posting pictures later, because that is just the way I am.

Also in other news, I’ve been working on Christmas gifts, which I will show you on or after Christmas. So no pictures yet! You need to wait a couple of weeks. 😉 Ooh, that’s very close! I’d better get busy!

Have a great Monday and Quilt on!

It is such a beautiful block Gretchen! You’re so lucky you found one that represents your name! I still love the orange!
