The Layer Cake That Didn’t Make It into the Giveaway

There were actually two layer cakes that didn’t make it into the giveaway, but I’m only going to talk about one of them here. But before I do that, if you haven’t entered the giveaway yet, please click here and do so. Remember, you are not entered by just leaving a comment. You need to tell the Rafflecopter widgets that you’ve done so. Also, if you don’t want to deal with the Rafflecopter widget, but you’ve left a comment and want to be entered, please email me at gretchen@120blocks.com and let me know that is you want to be entered.

Back to the story.

I originally pulled four possible layer cakes to give away. One was a princess themed layer cake that I decided to keep just in case a granddaughter ever materializes. The other was the layer cake above. It is Palindromes by Paula Nadelstern. At first, looking at just the top fabric, I felt like it was too wild with lots of browns, but as time wore on and I looked again and again at the Twitter quilt we’ll be making starting May 1, I realized that this was the perfect layer cake for that quilt, so it’s staying with me!

Sorry!

Quilt on!
