So far, the Falling Charms quilt has six rows sewn together and another row ready to attach to them. I also added another DPW;
I’ve also spent some time cutting some more for the flower blocks for the church quilt. We are making the Scrappy Pinwheel Flowers quilt by Cottage Quilt Designs:
We are making the king sized quilt, or we were until I decided to change the borders. As pictured above, there are three different colored borders of 3 inches finished width, beginning with the background color. It kind of looks tame for this quilt, so as of right now we are considering something more like the border on Sue Garman’s Twirly Balls and Pinwheels quilt:
I purchased the pattern (mostly because I would love to make it someday!) and will be attempting to figure out how to make a similar border for our quilt. What have I gotten myself into here?
I think I’ll go do a little hand quilting. I’m almost finished with the eighth (out of nine) superblock. Then I’ll get to move on to filling the big spaces between them. And then the borders. I know I’m not nearly finished, but I am making progress.
How about you?
