I’ve been working on assembling the center of the quilt (shown here draped over the cutting table because I have no idea how to photograph this 81 1/2 inch square right now):
The next job will be to make the neutral borders to go between the center and these borders and outside these borders. I understand the inner border’s purpose. It’s to make the center of the quilt fit the borders. I’m not sure about the outermost border, unless it is more to stabilize the quilt before quilting. Anyway, the finished quilt top will be 98 1/2″ x 98 1/2″. Yep, it’s a big one.
