Blazing Star Completed!

I love how this block looks. I love the three dimensional kind of quality it has. And the fact that it’s glitzy. I didn’t love all the thick seams and trying to press the last seam open instead of to one side. But this is a gorgeous block. I’m not sure that I would ever make it on a machine though. If I did, nothing would match and I’m not sure my current machine would be able to handle the places where several seams meet at once.

I wish I could tell you all about the next block, the Broken Star, but I haven’t done my research yet. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. Or Saturday.

  1. I really like this one. Good choice for fabrics. I also like the three dimensional effect.

I love this one- wow!!!! I think I might have to look for the pattern and put this in my pile of ideas for a future quilt.

    Love and hugs,

  2. WOW!!! That’s about all that needs to be said about this block! o:)

Thank you, everyone, for the compliments. Deb, this is from the book Marsha Mccloskey’s Block Party that is the first one on the book store page, if you are really interested. Jinny Beyer has a pattern for a similar “Blazing Star” on her site which is linked in an earlier post.
