Today we are looking at Geese Migrations by Judy and Judel Niemeyer. Obligatory Amazon Affiliate link below.
I purchased this book when I went quilt shopping with my Twilter friend Carole during the first granddog sitting excursion. My copy is autographed because the shop, Quilter’s Quest is a Quiltworx certified shop. It also came with a coupon for use on the Quiltworx website. (I have not yet used said coupon, but I certainly plan to do so!)
This book begins with very thorough directions for paper piecing a Judy Niemeyer designed quilt. It even includes QR codes to scan with your phone and watch video demonstrations of the techniques. (There is also a QR code to scan for corrections which links directly to the corrections page on the Quiltworx website.) Anyone who has done a Judy Niemeyer pattern knows her directions are amazingly thorough and piecing goes better if you really read them all the way through.
The quilts in this book are made with various Charm Elements packs, so you would need to own those to complete any of the projects, but once you have the Charm Elements, the directions are all there in the book. And, as you would expect from a Judy Niemeyer book, the quilts are stunning. (Yes, there is more Judy Niemeyer in my future. Sigh.)
So here is what is in the book:
- Thanks Everyone
- Techniques Covered in This Book
- Tools and Terms
- General Paper Piecing Instructions

And there you have it!
