Books on Monday – Striking Strip Quilts

Hey, it’s another Books on Monday! It seems very strange to me that the 22nd is the fourth Monday, but it is the earliest date it can be the fourth Monday, so here we go!

This week we are looking at Striking Strip Quilts: 16 Amazing Patterns for 2 1/2″-Strip Lovers by Kate Henderson. The links below are for the paperback and Kindle versions respectively and do benefit the blog if used.

This is (as the title suggests) a book of projects. And they are gorgeous quilts! I can see myself making most of the 16 quilts at sometime in the future. (The cover quilt is likely the first!)

The book has an introduction followed by the 16 quilt patterns (which as I read them make sense so I assume they are well written) and then a section of General Quiltmaking Instructions. The last two sections are Acknowledgments and About the Author. I am (really, I mean this) a huge fan of the shade of blue that Kate’s hair is in her official picture! Maybe when my hair gets just a little grayer…. Or maybe I’ll go more of a teal.

If you have tons of 2 1/2″ strips laying around (or fabric that you’re dying to cut into 2 1/2″ strips, I highly recommend this book.

Quilt on!
