Books on Monday – Sweet Celebrations

Today’s book is Sweet Celebrations with Moda Bakeshop Chefs: 35 Projects to Sew from Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes, Fat Quarters, Charm Squares & More compiled by Lissa Alexander.

This is, as you would expect, strictly a project book. It includes many different kinds of projects, but my favorites are the quilts, most of which are throw sized. I guess that shouldn’t surprise me – I like making quilts. I have other projects that I plan to make, but I keep going back to the quilts instead of the other projects. I guess that tells me something, right?

This book had me at the very first project, the Mother’s Day Bouquet quilt. Yep, that one might be on my to do list. There are also several other quilts that might entice me later on. There are also some cute place mats and table runners and aprons. I will admit that the Christmas wreath and table top trees don’t interest me, but there is plenty in here that does. And since it is all meant for precuts and I seem to be collecting several… Well, I think we know where this is going, don’t we.

If you like the Moda Bake Shop patterns, this book is for you. If not, then maybe not so much.

Quilt on!
