Yes, we are back for round three of Books on Monday! Today’s victim is The Sewing Machine Accessory Bible: Get the most out of your machine – from using basic feet to mastering specialty feet by Wendy Gardiner & Lorna Knight. (The picture below is a link to my Amazon affiliate shop for your convenience.)
This book may have been a bit misnamed, because most of the attachments discussed are actually feet. However, that is what I was looking for when I purchased it so you can’t make me mad about that.
The first chapter tells you about everything you need to have to start sewing. It goes over the anatomy of a sewing machine, must have tools, optional extras, threads, needles, and a bit about kinds of fabrics. The next four chapters cover various kinds of sewing machine feet (some of which I could never have imagined! Did you know there is such thing as a candlewicking foot?), and the final chapter is a sewing machine buying guide.
This is a great reference book. It contains many pictures, a description of the foot in question, and when and how to use the foot. Although I may never use many of these feet, I enjoyed seeing how to use them – and I’m ready if need be. I may just become a foot junkie after I get this wedding quilt finished!
Try out some new sewing machine feet and quilt on!
