Decision Made

You may or may not remember that I had several layer cakes to choose from for Monday’s Disappearing Pinwheel Bee on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Sew-In.

Moon Shadows

I considered using Moon Shadows and pairing it with a Kona Silent Film layer cake made up of all different blacks and grays, but when I looked at some of the other fabrics in this layer cake I realized that that would make a very dark quilt and I kind of don’t want to cut up the top print without fussy cutting. I really like that fabric!

So the current plan is to pair Kissing Booth with a Kona snow layer cake. I think that should come out pretty interesting. I may starch the heck out of the two layer cakes this weekend since I wasn’t doing very well working with the biases when I made a test block the other day.

In today’s stitching, I made some progress on the next units for the Celebration tree skirt.

Early progress

As far as I got today. Six more flying geese to go on each unit.

What are you working on?

Quilt on!

Wow, I’ll bet it was hard to choose – I love every single one of those layer cakes!!

Still love your flying geese, Gretchen! And the Kissing Booth layer cake is a beautiful fabric choice!
