Okay, this is not very quilt related, unless you consider the quilt apps I will put on it, but I am sitting here anxiously and excitedly anticipating tomorrow’s Apple iPhone announcement. It is an announcement I have been awaiting a long time. I will be getting a new phone soon! My first smart phone and my first iPhone.
I must admit here to being an Apple fangirl for decades! Every computer I have purchased for myself or one of our daughters has been an Apple. (All but the first one have been Macs, of course.) I confess to having bought a Windows laptop for my husband once (and yes, it was purchased more than 10 years ago and is still working – largely because it was only ever used for Word, PowerPoint and Bible Study. No internet for that baby.) I applied for a job at our local Apple Store when it opened. Own an iPad. Daughters and I all have iPods. I even own Apple stock, although I admittedly own much less Apple stock than I used to because sales of Apple stock paid for our youngest daughter’s entire undergrad college education.
With all of that history and the fact that the iPhone has been around for more than 4 years now, why is this going to be my first iPhone? Well, the first 3+ years of the iPhone’s existence it was AT&T only and AT&T just doesn’t play well at my house. And, yes, I know that the iPhone came to Verizon in January, but in January I was eligible for a discounted phone so I decided to wait. When I became eligible in March it was awfully close to the usual new iPhone announcement time, so I decided to wait. And wait. And wait.
Tomorrow my wait is over. At least then I will know when I will be purchasing my iPhone because, yes, it will be on day one of its availability – unless I decide it is not worth waiting for, in which case I will head to the Apple Store tomorrow.
End geek post.
