Good-bye Easy Street

This is what I get for putting things off. In the rush to finish the sister quilts, I kept putting off starting Easy Street, Bonnie Hunter’s Mystery Quilt. I kept telling myself that as soon as the sister quilts were done, I could start Easy Street and get caught up because I’m retired and have all of this time… Right. I did print out all of her instructions, so I can do it sometime, but it won’t be in my near future. Unless, of course, I show it to the bride and groom and they decide they want a quilt like that….

I did start a BOM  to practice my paper piecing – the Lucky Stars BOM from Don’t Call Me Betsy. She sent out a practice block, which I’m working on using Kate Spain’s Serenade fabric line. I’m anxious to see how it turns out although I’m not sure this fabric is the best choice. I probably should have just stuck with my beloved batiks.

The other thing I did this evening was some hand quilting, which I haven’t done for awhile. It felt good!

And here are the pictures of the finished second sister quilt that I promised to show you:

  1. These things happen. I did the exact same thing w a quiltalong I joined late in 2011. (Don’t you think this is an odd time to start these things?) I got it out in 2012 and made some progress. Maybe I’ll put it on one of my goals lists and finish it this year… At least you’re doing the BOM. I’m not not even trying that.
