I really haven’t fallen off the face of the earth, but somehow a lot of sewing isn’t happening. Sigh.
I put the side narrow borders on the Christmas Jelly Roll Race from three of years ago, but haven’t done the top and bottom or the wider borders yet. In case you’ve forgotten what it looked like, here is the picture from 2014 when I made the center. I do hope to complete this in time for Christmas, but I jumped into a few other things, so I don’t know how this will go.
I jumped into the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt “On Ringo Lake.” Her mysteries are intense, and I am not a fast quilter. Of course, I’m already more than a week behind. I did get a start on the 50 nine patch blocks. I’m almost done with those now. Here’s a glimpse of the first few.
Once I finish the nine patch blocks, I need to make the two blocks for my Getting to Know Hue BOM. Saturday is pick up day for the last two blocks but I probably won’t get down to pick them up until Monday. I have started prepping the appliqué blocks, which I think I will hand appliqué. There are four that make up the center medallion along with the center star. Even after I complete the blocks, there is still a lot of work to do on that one.
And I’m hoping to complete Layer Cake Explosion by the end of the year. That’s another very iffy possibility, but you never know! Stranger things have happened!
I hope your holidays are happy ones, whichever ones you celebrate.
