I’m Full of…

Public Service Announcements this week, apparently. This one may be a nonissue, though!

In case you haven’t seen it on the news, as of today merchants can start legally charging a surcharge if you use a credit card to make your purchase. (This does not apply to debit cards.) Although most merchants are saying they won’t be doing this because those charges are already built into their prices, I just thought I’d let you know so you can keep your eyes open, just in case. Because, you know how these things go. These charges may not appear today, but I won’t be the least bit surprised if they start creeping in over time.

  1. And a dollar here and 50 cents there could add up by the end of the month if you’re a serious credit card user… Thanks for the heads up! It’s good I only use my debit card šŸ™‚

  2. On a second thought… Our light and power company actually charges if you want to pay your bill online with a credit card which I always thought is a rip-off for $1.50!

  3. Thanks for the heads up, Gretchen. I’m hoping some credit card companies do not do this, hoping to be competitive. We shall see.
