This is my official list for the Q1 Finish-A-Long. It is also, coincidentally, the projects I plan to enter into my LQS’s UFO finishing contest. We shall see how it goes.
Next is the Christmas table runner I hand pieced many years ago. I thought I’d get it quilted and done last spring, but it didn’t happen. It needs to be layered, basted, quilted and bound. I’m not sure why it is taking me so long to actually do this!
Third on the list is the one I’m calling Mrs. B’s Crazy Quilt which was started by a friend’s mother that I’m quilting sort of like a crazy quilt using my machine’s decorative stitches. I need to finish quilting and binding it. Here’s a sample picture:
Last but not least (maybe least likely though) is my 2012 Fat Quarter Shop Designer Mystery BOM which needs quite a bit of work. I need to finish piecing the last two blocks and then piece the top. I’m currently planning to send it out to be quilted and then I’ll need to bind it. Here’s the most recent block finished:
For the three projects that I’ll be quilting myself, I’m planning to use the skills I’ve picked up from the two Craftsy classes I’ve been watching recently Creative Quilting With Your Walking Foot and Next Steps with Your Walking Foot. Even the idea to use the decorative stitches on the crazy quilt came from those classes. (Note that those links are Craftsy Affiliate links and will help to support this blog if you use them.)
So this is my plan for the first quarter. Let’s see how it goes!
