Thursday Thoughts

For some reason I have been unmotivated lately as far as quilting is concerned. One reason is that I’ve been enjoying reading quite a bit. Another reason is that some ridiculous ankle pain makes it very uncomfortable to get down to the quilting room to do any cutting or machine work. (Yeah, I’m probably going to suck it up and go to my doctor because this has gotten stupid.)

But I think the really big reason is that I have a list of things I want to do and feel the need to make as gifts, but I also have an ever growing list of things that I want to make just for fun. The fun things are calling to me, but I keep telling them that I’m can’t do any of them until I finish my list. Yeah, that’s not working so well right now so..

Over the next few days, I will be working on a project involving the Cold Spring Dreams fabric I recently ordered and mentioned in this post, some jelly roll strips, and this video from Missouri Star Quilt Company. Stay tuned for updates.

Quilt on!

  1. Gretchen, you just read my mind! I also have ankle pain, but nearly not as bad, but besides that I feel exactly the same way about reading and the have to vs. want projects! I think it’s just too much pressure and guilt. Hope it passes soon and you’ll get better!

  2. Hope that pesky ankle pain goes away soon! i’ve been dealing with plantar fasciitis, a heel spur and now neck pain. These issues are not debilitating, but just incredibly annoying and wearing, so I understand your not being motivated to do something that aggravates your issue!
