Last week I took my sewing machine to the spa for cleaning and to find out why it did the nasty stitch skipping when I was quilting (badly I admit) my youngest daughter’s quilt. I originally thought that maybe I had the wrong bobbins, so I took some with me and was told that was definitely not the case. Apparently they either didn’t find anything or whatever they found was covered by warranty as the estimate came to the cleaning and oiling fee. Be that as it may, I don’t get my machine back until sometime after the 22nd. At least, that’s the estimated date. Until then, I have plenty of cutting to do for the wedding quilt.
But did I do any of it today? No! Not one minute. I didn’t even press anything. Nope, instead I worked on hand quilting my 2009 Designer Mystery BOM from the Fat Quarter Shop, which is a quilt I am actually planning to keep for me. But here is the list of things I should be doing instead:
- Pressing and cutting fabric for the wedding quilt.
- Sorting batting scraps.
- Putting away fabric and sorting fat quarters.
- Vacuuming the sewing room.
- Putting away the Christmas decorations – wait! I did that!
Yep, I had a relaxing time hand quilting, but I sort of feel like it was wasting time when I had so much else to do. Oh well, there is always tomorrow, right!
