Wedding Quilt Update, the Moment I’ve Been Waiting For

Yep, the top is completed. It is pressed. I have clipped tons of threads and lint rolled and clipped more threads and lint rolled and…. Well, you get the idea. Now it is nicely folded and sitting on the cutting table.

Yep, that’s all you get to see. 98 1/2″ x 98 1/2″ is kind of big to take a picture of at night in the house. Maybe some day I’ll figure out a way to do it, but today is not the day.

The backing is also pressed, but not quite so folded up because I used Best Press and didn’t want to tightly fold any possible damp spots so they couldn’t dry.

Today I will trim the 120″ square wool batting down to 108″ square (or a little smaller). Tomorrow I will take it to the quilt shop to be basted for hand quilting. (I hate layering and basting!) And then… I get to hand quilt! Yay!

Next major project to tackle – clean up the sewing space.

  2. Wow! I am so excited for you! To reach this stage is a test of endurance and a sign that you are a special quilter. I look forward to following your progress!
