What Happens When We Assume

Yes, it really is the blog’s fourth anniversary, but that was meant to be a longer post, explaining how I started the blog and then how the blog has changed. Unfortunately, when I first started it, I scheduled it to go out this morning but I did not get a chance to finish the post. I assumed that there would be no problem getting it finished before the time and date for which it was scheduled. We all know what happens when we assume.

So let’s try this again! Four years ago today I wrote my first post for this blog. I had a plan for this blog and followed it pretty well for awhile. I completed the top for the 2009 FQS Designer Mystery Block of the Month, I made several blocks from the book using various Christmas fabrics, put three of them into a table runner and eventually got a bit tired of doing just the blocks. Also, the American Beauty BOM started and I began piecing those blocks by hand at work. Finished all twelve of them too! Then the job disappeared and the hand piecing opportunities dried up a bit.

Now the blog has just evolved into what I’m working on right now. Will I go back to the book and the block research someday? I hope so, but for now there are so many shiny projects to work on!

I originally figured that the fourth blogaversary was a good time for a giveaway, but right now I don’t know what I’d give away, so I will wait for inspiration!

I hope you are having a quilty weekend!

Quilt on!

Hmm, I thought it didn’t look finished, LOL! I went back to read your first post with the red background, but didn’t quiet finish reading it. I was wondering if you ever made all the 120 blocks, but now I know the answer from the tweets. I will still read the post 🙂 Happy 4th blogaversary! 🙂

Congrats, again! Perhaps posting about the 120 block challenge once a week and still keep up with your other posts about your work will refresh the challenge and keep the blog interesting for you?
