Have you been wondering what I’ve been up to? Have I been doing any sewing in the past month? Well, yes, but this first picture is actually a block I finished about a month and a half ago. I just hadn’t pressed it. It is block 8 of the 2012 Designer Mystery BOM!
And I have been steadily working on Scrap in a Box. I just don’t have any new pictures. I have the center assembled and now I’m starting on the borders. First the inner border that matches the sashing (sort of). Then a slightly wider border of a different color. My gut feeling is a pale yellow, but I’ll wait to see what it looks like against the teal. As Jaye says, “Make visual decisions visually!”
Last weekend we visited DH’s cousins in Interlochen, MI. We watched this moonflower open:
We also, of course, enjoyed visiting with the cousins. There were lots of cousins around!
My hostess kindly joined me in a trip to Interquilten, the local quilt store. There I picked up this batik fabric, which I hope will make a good border for Scrap in a Box, but we’ll see how it looks as we go. It wasn’t likely to be a fabric I passed up anyway!
Last, but not least, I saw this car in the Barnes & Noble parking lot the other day. It’s not often you see a car with both University of Michigan and Ohio State stickers.
Unfortunately, the temp secretary job is still happening so I’m really not getting much fun sewing done. I do have the AQS Grand Rapids show to look forward to. Just a little over a week! After that, some more dog sitting (maybe accompanied by handwork).
What are you up to?
